Below you can find our recommendations.

Many of us, in the staff of Freys Hotels, like to enjoy a good meal at Stockholm’s many restaurants. Therefore, the list is generous with our personal recommendations of restaurants. Please ask us for more information!

Here you can drink mead and get the real Viking feeling as all waitresses are dressed up in Viking clothes and you will taste real Swedish food.

Small and cozy. The tasting menu is recommended. We advise you to book a table in advance as the restaurant is small.

Berns Asiatiska 
Includes flavors from all over Asia in magnificent premises. The atmosphere is an experience.  Always good and well-cooked food and the brunch is among the most affordable in town.

Carls Deli 
In Hötorgshallen you will find this Italian restaurant and deli shop. It serves delicious food. Small and intimate.

Well-cooked food with different flavors that distinguish them from other Asian restaurants.

Fem små hus
Rustic environment with old cellar vaults in Old Town. On the menu you will find many Swedish classics with a french twist.

Great Margaritas and good Mexican food in an old wine cellar in the Old Town. Super cool, lovely atmosphere and with a small loft with seat cushions that you can crawl up on with a good drink.

Classic Stockholm restaurant with one of Stockholm's best views and bartenders. Sunset with the "Gondolen Sour" drink, is difficult to beat.

Serves vegetarian food and offer a great view of Stadsgårdshamnen and Strömmen.

A sky bar that offers good drinks and great views high above the capital.

A Japanese restaurant and cocktail bar. Here you can enjoy delicious flavors and a festive atmosphere. Perfect choice if you want to have a drink at the bar after dinner or even dance a little.

A classic restaurant that never fails. Day and evening, good Asian food is served. Perfect after a shopping day on Söder.

Meatballs for the People
Here you can eat meatballs in all possible variants and the bar invites you to socialize with a view of the dining room and the open kitchen.

In the middle of Norr Mälarstrand on Kungsholmen's southeastern beach you’ll find the Mälar Paviljongen. Café, restaurant and bar in a wonderful environment at Riddarfjärden. This place has the LGBTQ audience as its main target group but welcomes everyone who wants to enjoy a wonderful time both on land and on neighboring floats. Here you can have a cup of coffee, a good lunch or dinner or maybe just drink some wine.

A good meat restaurant located at Sickla shopping center just outside the city. One of the few restaurants in Sweden that offers both Kobe and Wagyu beef from Japan. Well worth a visit.

A nice place next to the water below the bridge to Djurgården which invites you to settle down for a glass and something to eat.

Swing by Golfbaren
Mini-golf and food= GOOD combination. Here, fine dining in the dining room and a slightly more relaxed bar menu are offered at the mini golf area. A perfect evening activity for the whole family.

Located close to Freys Hotel, nice staff, well-prepared food, good drinks and wonderful views. In the summer they have a giant roof terrace where you can sit and enjoy the sunset.

Nice facilities and fantastic food with influences from Japan and Korea. Lots to choose from.

Here Timeless classics are served in a pleasant environment. A very appreciated restaurant also among our guests. Located close to Freys Hotel Lilla Rådmannen.

Cozy restaurant at Norr Mälarstrand right by the water that serves good Italian food.


In the old town you will find the Café Kaffekoppen where you can have a coffee in the cellar vaults from the 17th century. A cozy café with many options on the menu.

Located just around the block from Freys Hotel and a Stockholm classic! Founded in 1928 and gives you a chance to “step back in time” to a genuine confectionery or tea-house.

Flickorna Helin
Enjoy a coffee with home baked goods or have a good lunch at this cozy café, which is buried in the Skåne mine. During the summer there is also an outdoor dining area overlooking the water.


Classic Söder Mälarstrand
A walk in the sunset along Söder Mälarstrand with the view towards the City Hall is well worth perishing with the camera.

Enjoy the view from Katarinavägen 
From the viewpoint at Katarinavägen in Söder, you will look out over the old town, Skeppsholmen and Djurgården at the same time. With boats passing by, it is a joy to just stand and enjoy the view.

Lunch with a view
Whether you appreciate the art that is available at the Modern Museum, lunch or coffee is recommended in the restaurant. Here is one of Stockholm's best views of Djurgården from their gigantic glass wall.

Lookout spot Skinnarviksberget is recommended for enjoying nice views of Stockholm, perfect for a picnic in nice company!


Rosendals Trädgård 
Cozy day trip all year round where you can enjoy the garden all seasons - often offering activities for families.

Hallwylska museum
Join a guided tour or take a tour on your own. If you go on a guided tour, you will also see the upper floors and more of the house than if you take the tour on your own. After a visit to the museum it is recommended to take the tram to Waldemarsudde where you can stroll in the beautiful park.

During the warmer seasons of the year, Vaxholm is a cozy place to visit during the day with a nice pier, cozy shops and lovely restaurants. From Strömkajen and Nybrokajen the boats take 45-75 minutes depending on the choice of boat.

At the western part of Kungsholmen you will find Fredhällsklipporna, a lovely oasis in the middle of town. With its south-west position, the sun shines on these bare cliffs all day and here you can watch the sunset in the evening. Bring a picnic, some good wine or the grill and enjoy nice summer evenings here. Don't forget to bring your swimwear for a nice swim in the sea. You can find this by taking the Metro, green line westwards, towards Hässelbystrand/Åkeshov/Alvik and jumping off at the station Kristineberg. Go under the Metro track and then right down to the water and you are soon there.

Walk along Strandvägen to Djurgårdsbron or take the tram there. Stay  Take a moment on the beautiful bridge and enjoy the best views. The current bridge was completed in 1896, the same year that the brand of Freys was started. Then cross the bridge and turn left. After 5 minutes you arrive at the café Flickorna Helin. Have a coffee with home baked treats or have a nice lunch at this cozy café which is buried located inside the Skåne Gruvan. Now you are ready for singing and dancing at the fantastic ABBA museum a stone's throw away. From here you can then continue to Gamla Stan (Old town) with the Djurgården ferry (SL card applies) or take the tram back to Hamngatan to visit the Hallwylska Museum, a magnificent old home with collections of art, antiques, weapons. The museum usually also has interesting temporary exhibitions. In the summer, enjoy a drink at the palace's courtyard.
Walk to the shopping street Drottninggatan and fold down follow it towards the old town, When you pass by the castle on the road, be sure to see the Royal Guards ceremony and experience all the small alleys of Gamla Stan. When you arrive at the end of Gamla Stan and Slussen. Take the ferry towards Djurgården, including the Vasa Museum, Skansen and Gröna Lund. On the way back you can choose to take the tram towards the T-Centralen and then walk towards the hotel again. A day where you can make a "full lap" of the inner city and see many parts at once!
Picnic at Djurgården
Take the bus, for example, a bit after Skansen and Gröna Lund, get off and walk down to the water to find your favorite place. In Stockholm there are many green parks and beautiful cliffs that are ideal for picnics, ask at the reception for more information.
